LOCAL RISK GUIDE

North Texas Damage Risks by Area

North Fort Worth, Alliance and Downtown

In the August 2022 flooding, the Fort Worth Fire Department logged 174 high-water rescues across the city, and Tarrant County declared a local disaster. During Winter Storm Uri in February 2021, Fort Worth Water lost power at three of its four plants and its boil-water notice covered about 212,000 homes in its northern areas.

Denton, Sanger, Krum and Ponder

Flash flooding on June 3, 2025 put water into homes and garages in Denton's PECAN neighborhood, and neighbors said blocked drains made it worse. Denton issued boil-water notices during Winter Storm Uri. Hail and wind storms reach the smaller towns too: a June 2025 storm ripped the roof off a building in downtown Krum.

Keller, Haslet, Roanoke, Argyle and Justin

Hail and tornadoes reach these towns. The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado just east of Justin in 2019, and the April 2019 storms flooded homes in Argyle. Denton Creek near Justin rose just above bank full in May 2025.

Decatur, Rhome, Boyd and Paradise

Wise County storms bring heavy rain and road flooding, with the West Fork of the Trinity River near Boyd under a flood warning in May 2025. Homes on a private well or septic system should have it checked before normal water use resumes after a flood.

North Texas Restoration FAQs

How fast can you get to my property?
Our typical arrival is 45 minutes across the areas we serve, from Haslet and Keller to Denton, Sanger, Decatur and Downtown Fort Worth. We answer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call (817) 402-0818.
Do you work with my insurance company?
Yes. We document the damage with photos and moisture readings, explain what we find to your adjuster and keep records through the job. Texas homeowners policies outside the coast usually cover wind and hail damage, though the policy may carry a separate windstorm deductible.
How long does water damage restoration take?
Drying usually takes three to five days once the water is out, depending on how much material got wet and the weather. Repairs come after the readings confirm the structure is dry.
What should I do while I wait for the crew?
Shut off the water at the main if a pipe burst, turn off power to wet rooms if it is safe to reach the breaker, move valuables off wet floors and take photos. Stay out of sewage or floodwater.
Which areas do you serve?
We serve Haslet, Keller, Roanoke, Argyle, Justin, Rhome, Decatur, Denton, Saginaw and Eagle Mountain, Summerfields and Park Glen, Alliance and Far North Fort Worth, Northside and Stockyards, Downtown Fort Worth, Krum and Ponder, Boyd and Paradise, and Sanger, plus Alvord and Sunset in Wise County.
Is flood damage covered by my homeowners policy?
Usually not. Rising water from a creek or street needs a separate flood policy. Decatur, Denton, Fort Worth, Haslet, Keller and Roanoke participate in the National Flood Insurance Program, so owners there can buy federal flood coverage.
Why do pipes burst in North Texas freezes?
A hard freeze can split supply lines that run through exterior walls and attics. During Winter Storm Uri in February 2021, Fort Worth Water reported more main breaks in a few days than in all of the previous year. Find your main shutoff before the next freeze.
Who handles a death in the home before cleanup can start?
In Tarrant and Denton counties, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner District, which also serves Johnson and Parker counties, determines cause and manner of death. Wise County is outside that district, and under Texas law a justice of the peace conducts an inquest in listed cases where no medical examiner serves. We begin once the property is released.
Do I need a licensed company for mold removal in Texas?
For most jobs, yes. Texas requires mold assessment and remediation companies to be licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, and the same licensee may not do both on one project.
My rental flooded. Who has to fix it?
Under Texas Property Code 92.052, a landlord must make a diligent effort to repair a condition that materially affects a tenant's health or safety once the tenant gives notice and is current on rent. We work with owners, tenants and property managers to document and dry the unit.
